Directed by Koji Shiraishi—known for acclaimed works such as Impossibility Defense and Noroi—this POV (point-of-view) horror adventure unfolds within a cursed forest said to connect to another realm. Produced in collaboration with WOWOW, the project delivers an unpredictable, relentless roller-coaster of fear, immersing viewers in a world where the supernatural lurks just beyond the frame.

Drama Series

The story follows filmmaker Koji Kuroishi (played by Shiraishi himself) and his crew as they venture into the forest to document contact with the paranormal. The cast includes Mayu Hotta as assistant director Miho Ichikawa, Hiroki Iijima as charismatic medium Nanashi, Miwako Kakei as the psychologically unstable Maria Miyoshi, and Shohei Uno as self-proclaimed “super volunteer” Shohei Eno—each character adding depth and tension to the unfolding terror. Presented in an episodic format, this marks Shiraishi’s first POV work developed as a serial drama.

Feature Film

Expanding the series’ universe, the feature film amplifies the dread on the big screen. As Kuroishi and Ichikawa encounter escalating supernatural phenomena deep in the mountains, the POV camera bears witness to every inescapable moment of fear. The theatrical release also includes an exclusive short film, The Visitor, offering an additional layer of immersion for audiences.

INOUE ART INC. contributed to the visual direction of the project, emphasizing the realism and disquiet unique to POV storytelling. By enhancing the eerie atmosphere and subtle presence of the unknown, we supported the creation of a deeply immersive horror experience where fear feels disturbingly close and hauntingly tangible.

「不能犯」「ノロイ」など数々の話題作を手掛けてきた白石晃士監督による、POV（主観視点）で描かれるホラーアドベンチャー。 WOWOWと白石監督がタッグを組み、“異界とつながる祟りの森”を舞台に、予測不能の恐怖が次々と押し寄せるノンストップ・ジェットコースター・ホラーです。

ドラマ版

ホラー映画監督・黒石光司（白石晃士）が率いる撮影チームが、森に潜む異界との接触を記録していくPOVホラー。助監督・市川美保役に堀田真由、カリスマ霊媒師ナナシ役に飯島寛騎、精神錯乱気味の美女・三好麻里亜役に筧美和子、自称スーパーボランティア江野祥平役に宇野祥平など、個性豊かなキャストが恐怖の物語を彩ります。連続ドラマ形式での展開は、白石監督のPOV作品では初の試みとなりました。

劇場版

ドラマ版の世界観を拡張し、劇場スクリーンでさらに恐怖を体感できる映画版。黒石監督と市川が山奥で遭遇する怪異をPOVで描き、カメラは逃れられない恐怖の瞬間を記録し続けます。ドラマ版では観られない劇場版限定の短編「訪問者」も同時上映されました。
